The Best Small Business
Web Hosting Service
This is my review of the two best business web hosting companies for small business owners. I currently use both of these services for my personal websites,
as well as recommending them to business website owners (This site, cybersmartwebmarketing.com is hosted at Hostgator).
Since 2002 I have personally “experimented” with six different hosting services. For the past three years I have stayed with two hosting companies, Bluehost and HostGator. These are the two services that I have found to be the best business web hosting on the market.
BlueHost is the service that I recommend for small businesses with only one to three websites. Bluehost offers a simple to use C-panel as well as a built in FTP client.
For larger web businesses, I recommend HostGator web hosting service. Below you will find the details on each of these fine hosting choices for business websites. The first hosting service review below is the hosting that I recommend for small operations.
BlueHost: The Best Web Hosting for Small Business Owners
There are two things that I like about the BlueHost C-panel that other hosting C-panels don’t offer. First, BlueHost has a built in FTP client so you can upload themes, plugins, files, and folders right from your C-panel. The second thing that I like, is being able to purchase and add new domains right from the C-panel.
BlueHost has been providing web hosting services for businesses and individuals since 1996. They claim over 20,000 new customers a month.
With unlimited domain hosting, unlimited gigabytes of hosting space, unlimited file transfer, and unlimited e-mail accounts, BlueHost is a company you should consider when shopping for a web hosting services. It’s a good destination when considering your next move toward starting any kind of website, whether it’s a blog or for e-commerce.
Many companies offer similar services, so what makes BlueHost stand out? One outstanding feature is their Simple Scripts, which they describe as “a one-click installer for blogs, photo galleries, forums, and more.
It’s so easy, a four year old can do it.” While you might not want to let your four year old take control of your BlueHost account, it’s nice to know that a kid could act as your copilot in an emergency.
This script list is pretty impressive. It includes 2 GB of free backup from:
- Mozy Backups
- VoIP Phone Services
- QuickBooks
- and more…
In addition to WordPress, you can choose from:
There’s a lot more, including scripts and apps for e-commerce (Marketecture, Magento, Zen Cart, OSCommerce, CubeCart, OpenCart, AgoraCart and TomatoCart. Other categories include, but are not limited to, Education, Content Management, Live Chat, Photo Galleries and Website Builders.
Once logged in, you can easily access the Control Panel. The environment is intuitive and as visually simple as you computer’s desktop. Icons are labeled for database services, software services, domain addons, a bevy of security services, and logs that keep you informed of your latest visitors, bandwidth status and more. You can check or create an email account and kill vermin with the Spam Hammer. There are even tools for your search engine optimization (SEO) projects.
BlueHost brags that their technology “is really what sets us apart from other companies.” They have their own data-center, build their own servers, have their own nationwide fiber network, and build their own custom Linux kernel. “In short,” they say, “because we handle every aspect of your hosting you can feel confident that if there is a problem that you won’t have to deal with 5 different companies to get your problem solved.”
Some of the features that BlueHost lists to support their claim of stable hosting service: Dual Quad Processor Performance Servers, UPS Power Backus, Diesel Generator Backup Power, Linux Operating System, 24/7 Network Monitoring and Multiple 10 Gigabit Ethernet Connections.
BlueHost has excellent customer service. This includes live chat, phone support and, of course e-mail and snail mail. Video tutorials teach you new tricks and the online Knowledgebase articles is a handy resource.
If you are a small business owner that only has between one and ten websites, then I highly recommend BlueHost web hosting. They have everything you will need, including an easy to use C-Panel that gives you total control. For under one hundred dollars per year you can host as many websites as you wish. You can’t buy a newspaper ad for a week for that price.
From the small business owner to the individual who desires full functionality on a small budget, Bluehost provides your complete small business web hosting solution.
The BlueHost support team is available twenty four hours a day via a toll free number. If you have questions about getting started with Bluehost, the sales team provides free chat right on the front page of their site to help answer any questions or concerns you may have.
